Tool for dispensing plastic fasteners
A tool for dispensing fasteners from a fastener clip having a runner bar comprises a housing shaped to include a handle portion, a barrel portion and a guide channel for receiving the used portion of the runner bar. A trigger assembly is pivotally mounted in the handle portion. The tool also includes a needle slide slidably mounted in the barrel portion, a needle coupled to the needle slide, and a needle slide link coupling the needle slide to the trigger assembly. An ejector slide is slidably mounted within the needle slide and adapted to receive an ejector rod which is insertable back and forth through the hollow needle. The needle slide and the ejector slide are independently coupled to the trigger assembly. An anvil extends out in front of the barrel portion and is adapted to receive a removable brush, the needle being aligned to selectively project into the brush.

Hammer drill
A hammer drill ( 2 ) includes a clockwise and counterclockwise driven tool spindle ( 28 ), a drive pinion ( 70 ) operatively connectable with the tool spindle ( 28 ) for transmitting a torque thereto, a separate control handle ( 6 ) for selecting one of the hammer drill functions including a pure drilling operation, a pure percussion operation, and a rotary-percussion operation), and a switching device ( 8 ) which is adjustable in accordance with a position of the control handle ( 6 ) and which is shiftable by the control handle ( 6 ) in a clockwise rotation position for effecting a pure drilling operation in a clockwise direction and in a counterclockwise rotation position for effecting a pure drilling operation in a counterclockwise direction.

Lock-out for activation arm mechanism in a power tool
A power tool, such as a nailer, having a driver, a flywheel and an activation arm for selectively driving the driver into contact with the flywheel to transfer energy therebetween to cause the driver to translate. The power tool includes a bar that may be moved so as to resist movement of the activation arm in a direction that would bring the driver into contact with the flywheel. A method for operating a power tool is also provided.

Rivet monitoring system
A rivet monitoring system is provided which has a micro-strain or micro fluid pressure sensor that measures strains or pressures within a tool component. These measured signals are compared to a number of tolerance bands formed about median strain or pressure versus time curve. Various techniques are provided to analyze the measured data with respect to the tolerance bands to determine if a particular rivet set is acceptable.
